trust the process

you ever have those moments where God just keeps reminding you of His goodness? that HE's the one in control, not you?  that everything will come together for YOUR good?

that's the theme that's been popping up for me over the last week or so.

a couple sundays ago, i went to the Dodgers faith and family day at Dodgers Stadium with my dad. it was one of the coolest experiences. we listened to a q&a with Clayton Kershaw and his wife, were led in worship by Jeremy Camp and heard testimonies from Chris Pratt, Clayton Kershaw and other Dodgers players.

something that stood out to me was from chris pratt's testimony where he said that God had been pursuing him his entire life. because isn't that our God?? he actively seeks us out and pursues us, waiting in the wings for us to come to Him. he won't force anything on us but he lets us know that He will always be there.

worshiping in the middle of dodger stadium with hundreds of others with powerful praise to God? there's absolutely nothing like it. i could feel God's spirit right there, and it was just another reminder that it doesn't matter where you are. God can use anything and everything, meet you anywhere to get your attention. just be open to it.

the following week, i watched the cody johnson documentary "dear rodeo." it was something to do and my uncle had mentioned to my dad earlier that it would probably be something we'd enjoy.

he was right. while i'm not necessarily interested in rodeo, i can appreciate the lifestyle and all that those 'cowboys' do. i learned so much about the craft of rodeo, but more than that it was a reminder of God working in the lives of those who love Him. how he's always working things out for our good.

"I remember thinking, 'God has a really good way of making me look stupid to myself. The best thing I can do is stay out of the way,'" Johnson said in the documentary.

 isn't that the truth?
